NJIT's FINEST would like to invite you to the 14th Anniversary of our annual event; reign or shine, where teams from all over the New York - New Jersey Metropolitan area come to compete and showcase their dancing abilities.

History

This event started as a fundraising project for hurricane relief for the aftereffects of hurricane Katrina and has continued as a tradition for the club. It received its name from Reiner Baylon, an alumnus, while thinking of a name for the event. The first ever Reign or Shine was held in the cafeteria of the Hazell Center, now known as the Campus Center, which included the present day Campus Center Atrium.

Considered as the flagship event of FINEST, Reign or Shine is one of the largest events on the NJIT campus, drawing attendees from not only within the NJIT campus but also off-campus audience members as well.

Purple Dancers

The NJIT Purple Dancers, also called the DSDT, is a group of dancers that represent FINEST. Members of the Purple Dancers have changed through the years, but the NJIT Purple Dancers perform exclusively during Reign or Shine as a Showcase Team.
